Facing lengthy recovery
Amenda (calf) remains sidelined with a significant calf injury that could keep him out for up to three months, according to coach Frank Lampard. "Aurele is working away. It's a sort of up to a three-month injury, so we're working through that."
Analysis: Amenda continues his rehabilitation from a significant calf tear, with Lampard maintaining the initial recovery estimate of two to three months. Stephen Mfuni replaced him on the right side of Coventry's back three against Nottingham Forest and helped the team secure a clean sheet. Mfuni could continue in that role while Amenda works toward his return.
Could miss up to three months
Amenda is expected to miss a minimum of two months with a significant calf tear and could be sidelined for up to three, coach Frank Lampard said after Saturday's 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, per Coventry Live. "Aurele's calf is a bit more severe and we're probably expecting the minimum of two months, possibly more. So we could be up to three months but we'll do our best."
Analysis: Amenda's significant calf tear leaves Coventry without one of their most important defenders for a lengthy spell, with Frank Lampard stating the absence could stretch beyond two months. In his absence, Lampard kept a back three for Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest and brought in Stephen Mfuni on the right as the side kept their first clean sheet, meaning the Manchester City loanee should hold that role unless Coventry switch formation.
