Analysis: Amenda completed all 90 minutes and contributed four clearances, while also attempting one shot. The center-back helped Coventry keep Hull City scoreless until the 82nd minute and should continue to see plenty of defensive involvement following the club's promotion. His physicality and ability to defend in space could be particularly important against stronger Premier League attacks.
Six clearances Friday
Amenda registered six clearances in Friday's 3-0 defeat versus Arsenal.
Analysis: Amenda was brought in to try and reinforce the backline, and he did just that, though not well enough to earn anything against Arsenal. He made six clearances during the one-sided rout and looked imposing in the defense. He's likely going to have plenty to do throughout the season as Coventry should be outplayed in most matches.
Transfers to Coventry City
Amenda completed a transfer from Frankfurt to Coventry City on Thursday.
Analysis: Amenda had been linked with a move to Coventry City for the better part of the last two weeks, and now the move is official. The Swiss defender started in 20 of his 29 appearances for Frankfurt between the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League, and he should add a versatile presence at the back since he can play both right-back and center-back with equal ease.
Quiet at right-back
Amenda had two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus FC Augsburg.
Analysis: Amenda got the start at right-back during Saturday's draw, and was passable. It was a decent showing, though he didn't do particularly well getting forward, creating only a single chance. That is to be expected though, Amenda is a center-back by trade and isn't nearly as comfortable in a more advanced role.
