Back in starting lineup in Juventus clash
Bernasconi recorded three crosses (zero accurate), three interceptions and two clearances and won two of two tackles in Sunday's 2-0 defeat against Juventus.
Analysis: Bernasconi returned to the XI after three games and was pretty good on both ends, putting together a busy stat line despite the defeat. The coach had preferred the more defensive-minded Sead Kolasinac in previous tilts. Both and also Davide Zappacosta could get minutes thanks to the busier schedule after the break. He has sent in multiple crosses in all his three displays, amassing eight (zero accurate) and posting two chances created, four corners and two tackles (two won) over that span, with no clean sheets.
Shakes off injury
Bernasconi (knee) featured from the start in Saturday's friendly against Atalanta's B team.
Analysis: Bernasconi missed time at the end of last season because of a fairly serious knee injury, but he didn't need surgery and recovered during the time off. He'll likely open the campaign as the top option at left-back. He notched three assists and posted 38 key passes, 153 crosses (43 accurate) and 59 clearances last year, contributing to eight clean sheets in 33 showings (27 starts).
