On bench for Dallas trip
Skahan (lower body) is on the bench for Saturday's meeting with FC Dallas.
Analysis: Skahan will look to reappear after dealing with an injury that sidelined him since early October. He's not guaranteed to earn a starting spot in the remaining fixtures, having failed to log more than 45 minutes in a single league game since July. Thus, he'll have to push for opportunities in the rotation alongside Eduard Lowen, Timo Werner and Ousseni Bouda.
Added to injury report
Skahan (lower body) will be unable to take part at least in the next MLS game versus Colorado Rapids, according to the league.
Analysis: Skahan's lower body problem adds a second midfield absence to a San Jose report that already lists Jonathan Gonzalez (lower body) as unavailable, further thinning a central area of the pitch that was already under pressure. Still, Skahan has served as a substitute over the past couple of months after losing the starting spot.
Two assists during start
Skahan assisted twice to go with five crosses (one accurate) and five corners in Saturday's 3-1 victory versus Portland Timbers.
Analysis: By assisting two of San Jose's three goals Saturday, scored by Preston Judd (who logged a brace) and Daniel Munie, Skahan arguably logged the Earthquakes' best performance said weekend. Entering the World Cup respite, his 2026 season already includes multiple goals and assists (two each) across seven starts. The question is whether they will keep coming his way. It is worth noting that Skahan's recently played position is taken by Timo Werner (hamstring). If the World Cup respite is enough for Werner's recovery, Skahan may be without a starting role until further notice.
