Nealis recorded one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Toronto FC.
Analysis: Nealis wore the captain's armband at right back in Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Toronto, a game New York controlled for long spells without finding a way through. The defender created two chances going forward and added one tackle, one interception and one clearance before he was replaced on the hour mark. The American has been an ever present in New York's back line, used at both center back and right back, and his recent outings have come on the right. He has now started each of the last seven games with 11 tackles, nine interceptions, 25 clearances and three blocks, and he has won and committed at least one foul in every one of them.
Under fire in defeat
Nealis had one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against FC Cincinnati.
Analysis: Nealis's six clearances led the under-attack New York Red Bulls backline Saturday as they fell in a 2-0 loss at Chicago Fire. In addition to his goal-prevention efforts, the central defender attempted his first cross of the campaign (one accurate) and created his second chance. Since missing three March fixtures due to an ankle injury, Nealis has played the full 90 minuets across five successive fixtures.
