Gutierrez assisted once to go with two chances created in Saturday's 5-2 victory against Tijuana.
Analysis: Gutierrez dropped to a substitute role after a string of three league starts, but that didn't stop him from joining the goal fest by providing a pass from inside the box to Roberto Alvarado in the 59th minute against Xolos. The former Chicago Fire man has yet to define his future for the rest of the season, with a return to MLS emerging as a real possibility in recent days, but in the meantime he has opened his Apertura assisting count and looked solid in a backup appearance. If he stays put after the transfer window, he'll be in contention with Omar Govea and Fernando Gonzalez in central midfield.

Gutierrez generated three shots (one on goal), four crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Friday's 1-1 draw against Puebla.
Analysis: Gutierrez led Guadalajara in chances created and tackles during the road draw, but could not find the back of the net. The forward also logged the second-most shots and crosses for his side. He took three of their seven corner kicks as well.
Productive in first Apertura start
Gutierrez had one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and four corners in Saturday's 1-0 victory over FC Juarez.
Analysis: Gutierrez contributed to the hosts' high possession, recording 53 accurate passes and tying for the team lead with three chances created during the win. He also took four corner kicks, but he wasn't the squad's first option for set pieces as he fell behind Roberto Alvarado and Efrain Alvarez in that category. After taking advantage of Omar Govea's muscular injury to make the starting lineup for the first time in the Apertura campaign, Gutierrez will aim to remain solid in a midfield role in upcoming games.
Unimpressive against South Korea

Analysis: Gutierrez fell short of his initial performance in terms of offensive involvement despite recording a few all-around contributions during the victory. He stayed in the starting lineup as a central midfielder and was replaced by Orbelin Pineda in the 71st minute. The Guadalajara player is still looking for his first goal or assist in the international tournament while averaging 2.5 shots, 2.0 chances created and 1.0 crosses per game. He could serve as an attacker who gets between opposing midfielders into the box if he continues to have the manager's trust and avoids rotation in the third group-stage match against Czechia.

Analysis: Gutierrez was held off the score sheet despite his constant attempts, ranking among the top three players in Thursday's clash in terms of shots and chances created. On the other hand, the midfielder committed a pair of fouls and earned a yellow card while losing six of his seven duels. He also took a corner kick, though that remains a rare event for him at the international level, and he can't be trust for regular set-piece production. He'll be in contention with Luis Chavez and Gilberto Mora for a central midfield spot going forward.
Will represent Mexico in World Cup
Gutierrez has been called up by Mexico for upcoming international activity, leaving Chivas for the Clausura 2026 playoffs.
Analysis: Gutierrez will serve international duty over the next couple of months, leaving Fernando Gonzalez and Omar Govea as the main midfield options for the Rojiblancos. The former Chicago Fire man scored two goals and one assist while averaging 1.6 shots, 1.2 chances created and 3.4 balls recovered per game during the Clausura regular season. He'll be in contention for playing time as a left winger or box-to-box midfielder in the World Cup.

Gutierrez scored a goal off two shots (one on target), made an assist and created two chances during Saturday's 5-0 win over Puebla.
Analysis: Gutierrez first appeared with a perfect cross for Ricardo Marin to double his side's lead in the 27th minute and then used a clever one-timer to make it 3-0 in the 51st. This was by far the best performance from the winger since he joined Chivas as he remains in search of a form that at least resembles what he did with MLS side Chicago Fire until last year.
