Gets an assist
Lukic assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and three chances created in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Chicago Fire.
Analysis: Lukic only had one cross but he created three chances as part of Philadelphia's big second half and was rewarded with an assist. If he can up his volume and maybe provide more service, he has a good opportunity to keep his assist streak going against Charlotte FC. Charlotte has given up 43 goals this season in MLS play.
Signs new Philadelphia deal
Lukic signed a new contract with Philadelphia Union through the 2028-29 season, with club options for the 2029-30 and 2030-31 campaigns, the club announced.
Analysis: Lukic has established himself as a key part of Philadelphia's midfield since joining the club in February 2025, making 50 starts across 55 MLS appearances while recording two goals and six assists. The Serbian midfielder has also provided consistency in possession, leading the team with an 85 percent passing accuracy. The long-term extension reinforces his position as a central part of the Union's midfield plans for the coming seasons.
