Three poor shots
Ayari registered three shots (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
Analysis: Ayari sent in three shots Sunday, but he failed to put even a single one on target throughout the loss. It was a frustrating match for the midfielder, as he really couldn't get much time on the ball and when he did he didn't make much of it. Ayari will have more room to operate in some other matches against teams that are likely to be more manageable.
Scores against Crystal Palace
Ayari scored one goal to go with four shots (two on goal) in Sunday's 5-0 victory against Crystal Palace.
Analysis: Ayari put in a lively display as a central attacking midfielder, finding the back of the net with a right-footed strike in the 10th minute. He now has two club goals this season, plus a goal and an assist for Sweden at the international level. His work in a more advanced role could persuade manager Fabian Hurzeler to keep him there, though Jack Hinshelwood's return to full fitness might end up pushing Ayari back into the holding position he occupied earlier in the campaign.
