Helps close out comfortable win
Lavia had one tackle (zero won) and two interceptions in Saturday's 5-1 win versus AFC Bournemouth.
Analysis: Lavia played the final 18 minutes after replacing Moises Caicedo in Saturday's 5-1 victory over Bournemouth. He attempted one tackle without winning it contributed two interceptions but produced little else statistically, entering immediately after Jordan Henderson's fifth goal with Chelsea already in complete control of the match. His introduction allowed Caicedo's minutes to be managed following the latter's return to the starting XI, while Lavia helped see out a quiet final portion of the contest.
Three interceptions in draw
Lavia had one tackle (one won) and three interceptions in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Hull City.
Analysis: Lavia made a fourth consecutive league start in the middle of the park and was among the more active Chelsea players without the ball against Hull. He picked off three interceptions on the day, matching his tally from the opening three games in one afternoon, and added a tackle won as the contest grew stretched at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder has still to complete 70 minutes in any match so far, which reflects the caution around a player with his injury history.
