Analysis: Conte set up Adam Hlozek in the 13th minute assisting the opening goal of the match. Conte has assisted in both matches he's started this season while combining for two shots, four chances created and three crosses in his first three appearances.
Assists in season opener
Conte assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), three crosses (two accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 3-2 loss to 1. FC Koln.
Analysis: Conte made his first Bundesliga start Saturday after multiple seasons as a squad player or out on loan from Hoffenheim. It was an excellent start to the season from him as he assisted Adam Daghim's opener in the 27th minute. It was one of three chances he created and he also recorded two accurate crosses and two off-target shots. He completed the full 90 minutes, establishing a prominent role early in the season.
Extends contract at Hoffenheim
Conte signed a long term contract extension with Hoffenheim after returning from a loan spell at Elversberg, the club announced.
Analysis: Conte made 25 appearances for Elversberg last season, scoring four goals and adding six assists as the club earned promotion to the Bundesliga, and he also featured twice in the DFB Pokal. The forward previously spent a season on loan at Karlsruher, making 29 appearances across all competitions. He made seven Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim's first team during the 2023-24 season and has also represented Germany at the U20 level. Conte is expected to compete for a regular role in Hoffenheim's squad as the club looks to build on his development through multiple loan spells.
Returns to Hoffenheim from loan
Conte has returned to Hoffenheim after his season-long loan at Elversberg expired on June 30, with the club having extended his contract long-term last summer before sending him out.
Analysis: Conte enjoyed a strong campaign at Elversberg, making 25 appearances with four goals and five assists as the club secured a historic first-ever promotion to the Bundesliga, finishing second in the second tier. He played a direct hand in sealing that promotion too, scoring the opener in a 3-0 win over Preussen Munster on the final matchday that confirmed Elversberg's leap to the top flight. Hoffenheim signed off on the extension specifically to keep developing him elsewhere rather than rush him into the first team, and he's now back for pre-season. However, with only seven brief senior appearances at Hoffenheim to his name before this loan, he's unlikely to walk straight into regular Bundesliga minutes. Conte is set to return to Hoffenheim in summer 2026, where his future will then be assessed.
