Ruled out until late November
Sima (thigh) will remain sidelined until the end of November after returning from international duty with a thigh injury, according to coach Yannick Cahuzac, per Lensois. "The bad news is Sima's injury. He came back from international duty injured. He'll be out until the end of November."
Analysis: Sima's extended absence is a significant blow after he established himself as a regular starter in Lens' attack, starting each of the club's first five Ligue 1 matches while recording one goal and one assist. The striker had already missed Senegal's friendly against Comoros because of the issue, and Cahuzac has now confirmed a lengthy recovery period. Franjo Ivanovic and Odsonne Edouard should be among the main candidates for increased playing time in attack while Sima is unavailable.
Out with thigh injury
Sima will be sidelined until late November due to a thigh injury, according to Christophe Schaad of Lensois.
Analysis: Sima missed the Senegal friendly against Comoros earlier this month because of a thigh injury, and further tests revealed the striker will be sidelined for a considerable stretch. This is a huge blow for Lens, as Sima has started every one of Lens' five Ligue 1 matches to date, scoring one goal and providing one assist. With Sima out, Franjo Ivanovic and Odsonne Edouard will be in line to see more playing time leading the attack.
