Sent off vs. Toronto

Bangoura was sent off in Saturday's match against Toronto FC.

Analysis: Bangoura received the red card late in the second half, so the Crew will finish the game with 10 players. That means he'll miss the Wednesday match against Dallas, and if the Disciplinary Committee keeps the ban to a minimum, he'd be eligible to return against D.C. United on Saturday, Oct. 31.

On bench Sunday

Bangoura (ankle) is on the bench for Sunday's match against Inter Miami.

Analysis: Bangoura is available for the first time since Aug. 2 after overcoming his ankle issue, challenging Taha Habroune and Dylan Chambost for defensive midfield spots. There may not be a lot of minutes for Bangoura in the weekend game, but he could make his return and start building momentum in the final months of the season. He previously scored one goal over 16 appearances (six starts) while averaging 22.8 accurate passes and 1.2 tackles per game in the 2026 MLS campaign.

Out with ankle injury

Bangoura won't play Saturday against Charlotte FC due to an ankle injury.

Analysis: Bangoura has started in six of Columbus' last nine league matches, so he was getting in a decent run of minutes before the injury. He came off the bench against Inter Miami on Aug. 2, however, and with just one goal, five shots and two chances created in that nine-game stretch, the defensive midfielder doesn't carry a ton of fantasy appeal.

Scores first Crew goal

Bangoura scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Sunday's 2-0 victory against Atlanta United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 64th minute.

Analysis: Bangoura scored his first goal of the season Sunday, a strike in the 24th minute assisted by Mohamed Farsi which opened up the scoring. It marked his fourth start of the season, including his third in a row, and he finished the match with one shot and one blocked shot. He will now be away from club football for nearly two months due to the World Cup break.
