Assists in home draw

Duggan assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Houston Dynamo.

Analysis: Duggan created Kelvin Yeboah's equalizer just after halftime with his first assist in the season. The centerback helped on defense with the second-most clearances and tackles for Minnesota. He started in all but one of their 28 games so far.

Starts Saturday

Duggan (lower body) is in the starting XI for Saturday's encounter with Los Angeles Galaxy.

Analysis: Duggan has made a quick return from a mild issue, bouncing back into a three-man defense next to Carlos Harvey and Nicolas Romero for the weekend matchup. The fit-again player will directly replace the suspended Michael Boxall in the main lineup. If his performance is consistent with previous appearances, Duggan should be reliable for his averages of 41.6 accurate passes, 5.9 clearances and 4.7 balls recovered per game.

Recovering from injury

Duggan suffered a lower extremity concern that puts his participation in doubt for immediate action, per the MLS Player Status Report.

Analysis: Duggan is an ever-present member of his side's back line, so losing him would represent a massive problem for them, with a fit-again Nicolas Romero pushing to join Michael Boxall and Jefferson Diaz in the defense. Duggan could be hopeful to make a quick return if he avoids any setback, but his workload may be managed in the short term.

Signs contract extension

Duggan signed a new contract with Minnesota United until the end of the 2029/30 season on Thursday. The deal also includes an option for the 2030/31 season.

Analysis: Duggan has emerged as a key defensive piece for Minnesota United this season, starting and going the full 90 in every match so far in the 2026 MLS campaign. Through his 21 starts, he has one goal, 128 clearances, 29 tackles and 33 interceptions. He should remain an anchor at the back for Minnesota.
