Dealing with relapse of same injury
Santos sustained a second medium-grade left biceps femoris strain, Napoli announced.
Analysis: Santos looked shifty in his return but got hurt again in one of his final attempts and is set for another spell on the sidelines. He missed 40 days in the previous instance. He might be held out for longer this time. He could be back in early December, but it'll hinge on how the rehab goes, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported. Giovane and Noa Lang will pick up the slack until David Neres (thigh) returns. Scott McTominay and Kevin De Bruyne could also move to a more attacking role.
Will need to be assessed again
Santos had six shots (three on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and one corner and created three scoring chances in 36 minutes in Saturday's 1-0 defeat versus Venezia, but "he felt something on one of his final shots and will need to be evaluated by the doctors. It looks like he got hurt again," coach Massimiliano Allegri announced.
Analysis: Santos had an excellent cameo in his return from a thigh injury, co-leading his side in attempts and posing a constant threat, but he couldn't put one past the goalie and will undergo tests to assess the severity of his new injury. Giovane and Noa Lang have replaced him in recent tilts.
