Out for season with torn meniscus
Luna revealed in an Instagram post that he has a torn meniscus that will require surgery to repair and will miss the remainder of the season. "And now my season has been cut short, and a new chapter of recovery begins. With a torn meniscus that needs to be repaired. I will use this time to heal mentally and physically and come back stronger than ever and ready to take over because that's who I am."
Analysis: Luna will not feature again this season after revealing that his torn meniscus needs to be repaired, with the knee problem that kept him out against New York City FC on Sept. 12 proving more serious than a short absence. He contributed five goals and five assists in 18 league appearances, and his loss leaves coach Pablo Mastroeni without one of his most productive attackers during a winless run in league play. The USMNT international has stood out for his technical quality, vision, and creative ability, scoring five goals and three assists across 18 MLS appearances this season, while also taking most of the squad's set pieces. Thus, a knee injury putting him out for at least the next clash with NYC FC creates a genuinely alarming depth situation across the midfield and attacking structure. With Morgan Guilavogui potentially returning from a knee issue, it could be him and Aiden Hezarkhani who benefit from the void left in the lineup. The severity of the knee problem is the most urgent medical question for RSL heading into the final weeks of the regular season.

Analysis: Luna was RSL's most aggressive attacking presence across the full 90 minutes, registering five shots including two on goal while also delivering one corner and creating five chance as the home side looked to build on Saba Lobzhanidze's early equalizer and find a winner in the second half. He was denied by Hugo Lloris on a driving effort in the 54th minute and also found the side netting late in the match as RSL pushed hard for all three points in the closing stages. Luna now has five MLS goals and three assists in 17 appearances this season.

Luna scored one goal and assisted once from four shots and four chances created in Wednesday's 4-3 defeat against FC Dallas. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 61st minute.
Analysis: Luna scored a goal and provided an assist to bring him to a total of five goals and three assists for the season. He created four chances in the game, the second-highest in a game this season, while he also took four shots and put two on target, his third time taking four and his second time putting two on target.
Gets assist thanks to pinpoint header

Analysis: Luna's perfect header set up Real Salt Lake's first goal after a bad pass in Minnesota's defensive third but that was his lone brilliant moment. Of his 10 crosses, only one was considered accurate. He will need to be better if RSL want to take advantage of a FC Dallas defense which has been shaky. FC Dallas has conceded 25 goals in 18 games ahead of their match on Sunday against Austin FC.
Scores in return from injury
Luna scored once and played the full game in Wednesday's 4-1 friendly win over Burnley, confirming he is back fit from his injury.
Analysis: Luna's return to action and immediate impact on the scoresheet is an encouraging sign after a muscle injury sidelined him for multiple matches before the World Cup break, an issue that had cost Real Salt Lake a reliable offensive threat who scored four goals and one assist over a seven game stretch before going down. Getting back on the field and finding the net right away suggests he has put the injury fully behind him, positioning him to regain a featured role in the attack once MLS action resumes for Salt Lake against LAFC on July 22.

Analysis: Luna recorded the only goal for Salt Lake during the loss to Dallas on Saturday. His form has improved of late with four goals with an assist in just the last six appearances, creating 22 chances in that span.
Doubles lead on Saturday

Analysis: Luna doubled the lead with an assist from Juan Sanabria following a great one-two play. He created an impressive 10 chances but ended the game without an assist, largely due to the brilliance of James Pantemis. Luna has now contributed to four goals in his last five games.

Analysis: Luna took two shots but the bigger story was the the three chances he created. The volume was excellent throughout the match, but Luna and Real Salt Lake just couldn't seem to apply the finishing touch. He will need better finishing around him to get back among the goals in the coming weeks.
