Returns for Saturday
Thompson has served a one match suspension and will be an option for the trip to the Galaxy on Saturday.
Analysis: Thompson continues to struggle for minutes since moving to Colorado from Toronto, appearing just 14 times since March. After spending 2025 as a full‑time starter and finishing with 83 clearances, he's nowhere near that level in 2026, unable to regain consistent form or a steady role.
Set for suspension
Thompson recorded two passes in Saturday's 1-0 victory against CF Montreal. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 85th minute and is set for a one match suspension.
Analysis: Thompson played only the final minutes against Montreal, picking up a yellow card that will lead to a suspension. He's slipped down the depth chart, starting just once since the World Cup break and making five appearances, spending half of that time as an unused option.
Two shots Saturday
Thompson recorded two shots (zero on goal) and two chances created in Saturday's 3-0 loss versus San Diego FC.
Analysis: Thompson made his first start since May 17 Saturday and played fairly well in his return to the starting XI. He led the team in chances created with two and also tied a season-high with two shots, his first two since he scored a brace versus Houston on April 12. He and the defense struggled on the other end of the pitch though, allowing three goals for the sixth time this season.
Four crosses Saturday
Thompson recorded four crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Houston Dynamo.
Analysis: Thompson recorded a season-high four crosses Saturday, however he failed to record a single accurate cross. He also created one chance for the fourth time in his last five appearances. On the defensive end he won two tackles and made two clearances as he played the full 90 minutes for the fourth time this season.
