Makes seven saves in draw

Thomas registered seven saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw against FC Cincinnati.

Analysis: Thomas was considerably busier than Celentano and played a major role in keeping Seattle within striking distance. He initially denied Mboma Dem during the sequence that produced Cincinnati's opener, but Evander eventually converted after two subsequent attempts inside the box. Thomas prevented Cincinnati from extending its advantage the rest of the way, and it's clear this game wouldn't have ended with a draw hadn't it been for him. He'll have a tough matchup against Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Four saves in defeat

Thomas made four saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-0 loss versus Philadelphia Union.

Analysis: Thomas made four saves in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Philadelphia, doing his best to keep Seattle in the match throughout the second half as the Union looked to protect their lead, but was beaten in the first half by Milan Iloski's right-footed volley that looped over his head from Frankie Westfield's long feed from the right sideline. The goalkeeper has now gone nine consecutive MLS matches without a clean sheet heading into the Portland fixture, a run that reflects the defensive vulnerability behind him as much as any individual failing.

Concedes three

Thomas registered three saves and allowed three goals in Wednesday's 3-1 loss against Austin FC.

Concedes five to Portland

Thomas recorded five saves and allowed five goals in Thursday's 5-1 defeat against Portland Timbers.

Analysis: After nearly two months off for the World Cup, Thomas could not have had a worse return to MLS play. He conceded five goals in the loss after not conceding more than two in any match this season. His defense looked hapless, allowing 10 shots on target and constant pressure throughout the match. He will look to put this performance behind him quickly, starting Wednesday at Austin FC who sits second to last in the Western Conference.

Two saves in loss

Thomas made two saves and allowed one goal in Sunday's 1-0 defeat against Los Angeles Football Club.

Analysis: Thomas made two saves in Sunday's 1-0 loss against LAFC, finally getting beaten in the 86th minute when Timothy Tillman snuck in at the back post to finish off Tyler Boyd's cross. He had been solid between the pipes up to that point but couldn't keep out the late winner. The keeper now sits on five clean sheets in 13 MLS appearances this season, firmly holding down the No. 1 role for Seattle after taking over from Stefan Frei under manager Brian Schmetzer.

Beaten twice in loss

Thomas had no saves and allowed two goals in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Los Angeles Galaxy.

Analysis: There wasn't much Thomas could have done on the two goals he conceded in this match, but Seattle didn't offer him much support on offense, either. Thomas has gone six straight games without a clean sheet, allowing eight goals and making 17 saves in that stretch. The Sounders have gone W3, D2, L1 in that six-game span.

Concedes twice

Thomas made one save and allowed two goals in Wednesday's 3-2 win over San Jose Earthquakes.

Analysis: Thomas endured a difficult start to Wednesday's 3-2 win over San Jose, with Kalani Kossa-Rienzi's back pass intended for him intercepted near the end line by Nonso Adimabua in the second minute, leading directly to Nick Fernandez's opening goal and putting his side in an early deficit that required a second-half comeback to erase. The goalkeeper regained his composure to make one save over the remainder of the match as the Sounders controlled possession and territory for long stretches, and he was only beaten again by Preston Judd's heavily deflected effort in the second half. Thomas has made 39 saves and conceded eight goals across 11 MLS appearances this season and will look to carry this momentum into the next match against LA Galaxy.

Recovers after early lapse

Analysis: Thomas gave up the early goal but was able to keep San Diego out of the net for the rest of the contest to ultimately get Seattle one point. The goalkeeper will need to be locked in to avoid giving up multiple goals in the next match against San Jose Earthquakes, the top team in the West which has put in 27 goals in 12 matches.
