Will build fitness with B team

Milambo (knee) has stepped up his recovery and will be involved with the B team over the next couple of weeks, according to coach Keith Andrews. "Antoni's looking really good. He's moving well. He was involved in an 11 v 11 on Wednesday, which was his first involvement in that type of scale and intensity, and on that size of pitch. He recovered well from that and trained with us again this morning. The plan for Antoni is to be involved in a B-team game over the next couple of weeks."

Analysis: Milambo had been a few weeks behind schedule in his recovery, alternating between modified and full team training as he worked his way back, and this latest step marks meaningful progress toward a return to competitive action. His path back to the first team squad will continue to be monitored as Brentford gradually increases his workload.

Not an option for Saturday

Milambo (knee) won't be an option for Saturday's game against Tottenham, according to manager Keith Andrews. "He is a few weeks behind with the injury and it's not an exact science, but he's had a really positive couple of weeks. He's been training with the group; sometimes it's modified, sometimes it's full training. He's making really good strides."

Analysis: Milambo hasn't recovered as quickly or as smoothly as expected, and the attacking midfielder is not yet ready to return despite being back in training. Until Milambo can consistently train with the rest of the group, he won't be an option for the Bees, and even when he's ready to go, he should be considered a depth option in midfield and not much else.
