Gomez signed a contract until 2031 with Udinese after joining from Athletic Club.

Analysis: Gomez heads to Serie A after being a regular for Athletic Club for the past three campaigns. He scored and assisted once and notched 29 shots (nine on target), 40 crosses and 18 tackles in 33 appearances across all competitions last year. He could have a big role if either Arthur Atta or Jurgen Ekkelenkamp leaves the club later in the summer. Udinese also recently added Giorgi Chakvetadze in the midfield.

Gomez (undisclosed) has been cleared and is available for Saturday's season finale against Real Madrid, the club posted.

Analysis: Gomez had been training separately from the rest of the squad earlier in the week, raising doubts over his involvement in the final fixture of the season at the Bernabeu. His clearance is a welcome boost for Athletic Club heading into what promises to be a significant occasion, with the club able to call upon one of their key attacking options in the rotation for the curtain closer against the Merengues.
