Signs contract extension

Johnson has signed a contract extension with Vancouver Whitecaps through the 2029-30 MLS season, with a club option for 2030-31, the club announced.

Analysis: Johnson has established himself as a regular at left-back since joining Vancouver in 2025, starting 55 of his 68 appearances across all competitions. The 21-year-old has remained heavily involved this season with 23 starts in 26 appearances, while contributing three assists and 18 key passes in MLS play. Johnson should continue to hold a prominent role on the left side of Vancouver's defense after committing his long-term future to the club.
