Serves ban
Verhoeven has served a one match suspension and will be an option for the trip to Austin on Saturday.
Analysis: Verhoeven is expected to slot back into the XI at right back, where he's found steady success. Since taking over duties on the flank, he's started 17 of 23 appearances and stacked 21 tackles, 28 clearances, and 14 interceptions, a reliable output that's kept him in the mix.
Handed suspension
Verhoeven registered one cross (zero accurate) and one tackle in Sunday's 5-0 defeat versus Philadelphia Union. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 91st minute and is set for a one match ban.
Analysis: Verhoeven will miss the match against Philadelphia after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. He's started each of the last five matches, contributing 12 clearances along with three tackles and three interceptions in that span. His absence should give Dagur Dan Thorhallsson a chance to step in at right back.
Three crosses in away win
Verhoeven recorded one shot (one on goal) and three crosses (zero accurate) in Saturday's 1-0 win versus Los Angeles Football Club.
Analysis: Verhoeven started his 12 game of the season having been left unused on the bench in the previous game. He put his only shot in the game on target and attempted three crosses in the game. This shot on target was the first shot that he has put on target in his MLS career. This was also just the second game this season that he attempted three or more crosses.
Plays full game
Verhoeven had two crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-0 victory against FC Dallas.
Analysis: Verhoeven completed 54 passes and also made two interceptions and a clearance. He has recorded 16 appearances and is yet to produce an above average performance. This was also the first time in the campaign that he was part of the defense that recorded a clean sheet.
