Joins United States Under-20s
Shore will join the United States Under-20 team in Spain from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5 for friendlies against Brazil and Denmark will therefore miss Saturday's trip to Atlanta United.
Analysis: Shore has made six starts across 18 appearances for New York City FC this season and scored one goal, but he has gone unused in three of the last four matches. The call-up comes just as a midfield slot was opening up following Aiden O'Neill's absence, denying him the chance to lock down more club minutes.
Plays full 90
Shore recorded two shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Friday's 1-1 draw against Toronto FC.
Analysis: Shore started and played the full 90 minutes, going the distance for the first time this season. After beginning the year primarily as a bench option, the defender has started each of the last three matches since the MLS break due to injuries to Kai Trewin and Aiden O'Neill. During that stretch, he has recorded eight tackles, created two chances, and made three clearances.
