Facing two to four weeks out
Banks is expected to remain sidelined for another two to four weeks after suffering a lateral ligament injury in his right knee, according to coach Manuel Baum. "Noki will be treated conservatively; it will certainly take another 2-4 weeks before he is fit to play again."
Analysis: Banks sustained the injury while representing Germany U21 during Wednesday's 4-1 victory over Malta, forcing him to withdraw from international duty and return to Augsburg for treatment. The young center-back will undergo conservative treatment rather than surgery, with Baum's latest comments providing a clearer recovery timeline. Banks is set to miss several Bundesliga fixtures, including Saturday's clash against Bayern Munich, and will need to complete his rehabilitation before returning to full training. Jeffrey Gouweleeuw is expected to benefit from additional starting opportunities in Augsburg's back three while Banks remains unavailable.
