Starts vs. Arsenal
Gadou (undisclosed) starts in Dortmund's preseason friendly against Arsenal on Sunday, the club announced.
Analysis: Gadou had been forced to stop training early last week after feeling unwell, though the issue wasn't believed to be serious at the time. His inclusion in the starting lineup confirms that assessment and marks a positive step for the 19-year-old, who arrived from Salzburg with significant expectations for a role in Dortmund's back three. His physicality and composure on the ball make him one of the more promising young center backs in the setup. Gadou is expected to continue building toward a regular role as preseason wraps up.
Leaves training early
Gadou was forced to stop training early Wednesday at Dortmund after feeling unwell, though the issue is not believed to be serious, according to Sky Sports.
Analysis: No details have been provided on the severity or the specific cause of the problem, but the club will likely monitor the 19-year-old center back closely over the coming weeks given his potential role in Dortmund's back three, where he arrived with significant expectations as a recent signing from Salzburg. How quickly he returns to full training will be worth watching, but for now, this reads as a routine precaution rather than any cause for alarm.
