Masanka Bungi has joined VfB Stuttgart II on loan from RB Leipzig for the 2026-27 season, the club annonuced.
Analysis: Masanka Bungi is a Belgian left-back who came through Genk's academy before joining RB Leipzig in 2023, where he racked up 56 appearances and 10 goals across the U17 and U19 levels, He spent the first half of this year on loan at New York Red Bulls, a fellow Red Bull-owned club, but saw limited senior minutes there. The move to Stuttgart's reserve side gives him a fresh runway for regular football in Germany, with a buy option attached that could turn the loan into a permanent switch if he impresses.
Returning to Leipzig
Masanka has returned to RB Leipzig after the end of his loan spell with the New York Red Bulls.
Analysis: Masanka joined NYRB in February, but he made two appearances at the MLS level and five more in the MLS Next Pro. He's a 19-year-old prospect who's yet to make his first-team debut with Leipzig, so another loan for the 2026/27 campaign isn't out of the question.
