“One of those photos of Assane Diao celebrating is one of my favourites I’ve ever taken. Moments like that are why I love shooting football on film. You never know exactly what you’ve captured until the negatives come back, and that makes every frame feel even more special.”
In a game defined by speed, football photographer Miles Myerscough Harris, the man behind Expired Film Club, takes a different approach. Using vintage film cameras, he captures football beyond the decisive moment, turning matches into lasting memories. Last season, he visited Como for the match against Roma, showing how the city and its atmosphere proved just as compelling as the action on the pitch.
“Como was a dream to shoot because it’s so gorgeous. Everywhere I looked, basically, there was cool stuff to photograph. It wasn’t just the football, it was the lake, the streets, the people and the atmosphere that made every frame feel unique.”
