Bench option versus Philadelphia
Piol (Achilles) is on the bench for Saturday's matchup against Philadelphia Union.
Analysis: Piol is still unlikely to see a lot of action following a lengthy recovery from an Achilles tendon rupture, but his presence as a potential substitute is a great sign, as he could begin to gain competitive momentum. The forward will serve as an alternative to current starters Sergi Solans and Morgan Guilavogui in offense. During the only two appearances he made in the 2026 season before getting hurt, Piol was quite efficient with one goal from three shots (two on goal) while adding five clearances in that span.
Could be available against Philadelphia
Piol (Achilles) is not listed on Real Salt Lake's latest injury report ahead of Saturday's MLS clash against Philadelphia Union, suggesting he could be available for selection despite previously being expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season.
Analysis: Piol could be nearing an unexpected return to competitive action after undergoing surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon earlier this season. The young forward had initially been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign following the injury sustained during his second MLS appearance of 2026, in which he scored his only goal of the season. His omission from the latest injury report is an encouraging development, although it does not confirm that he has been medically cleared to play.
