Gabriel Moscardo
Joins Espanyol on loan from PSG
Moscardo has joined Espanyol on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain, the club announced.
Analysis: Moscardo came through the Corinthians academy in Brazil, joining at just 12 years old and eventually breaking into the first team in 2023, where he made 25 appearances with a goal and an assist and quickly became a mainstay in the middle of the park. That form led PSG to sign him to a four-and-a-half-year deal in January 2024, though he's yet to make an appearance for the senior side in Paris, spending the time since on a string of loans. He featured 10 times for Stade de Reims in 2024-25 with a goal in the Coupe de France, then made 39 appearances last season on loan at Braga across all competitions, often used out of position at center back, where he still managed a goal and an assist. He's also been a regular for Brazil's youth national teams, helping the U20s win the 2025 CONMEBOL tournament. With his Braga loan now up, this latest move to Espanyol gives him a fresh opportunity to build a case in La Liga, though the lack of a purchase option means his long-term future still runs through PSG.
Heads back to Paris
Moscardo will return to parent club PSG following the conclusion of his loan spell at Braga, with reports suggesting he is likely to be sent out on loan again.
Analysis: Moscardo made 39 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist across 1,527 minutes including 23 Liga Portugal outings, nine Europa League matches, three Taca de Portugal appearances, two Allianz Cup matches and two Europa League qualification games. Moscardo now heads back to PSG where his future will be assessed heading into the 2026/27 season, though another loan move appears the most likely outcome given the competition for places at the French champions.
