Back from first senior USMNT stint

Mehmeti has returned to New York Red Bulls following his first senior international call-up with the United States and is available for Saturday's MLS clash against San Diego FC after being omitted from the league's latest injury report.

Analysis: Mehmeti missed the matchup against St. Louis City SC while representing the USMNT during the international break but is now back in contention for midfield minutes. The youngster has recorded one goal and three assists across 25 MLS appearances in his first full season with New York, becoming the second-youngest player in franchise history to register an assist back in February. His first senior international call-up represents another milestone in his development, while his return gives the Red Bulls an additional option in midfield. Mehmeti should compete with Sekou Kone for playing time against San Diego as he looks to regain his regular role.
