Finds back of net in draw

Owusu scored one goal to go with four shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus New England Revolution.

Analysis: Owusu nodded home a perfect cross from Luca Petrasso to even things up for Montreal, completing a comeback and snatching a point after going down 2-0 in the first half. Owusu is putting up even better numbers than last year. He had 13 goals and three assists in 34 appearances (32 starts) in 2025, but he's up to 10 goals and six assists in just 17 contests (16 starts) in 2026.

Available again after suspension

Owusu is no longer suspended after serving his one match ban during Thursday's 0-0 draw against Toronto.

Analysis: Owusu's suspension stemmed from yellow card accumulation after his hat trick performance against D.C. United, and with the ban now served, he is available to regain his spot in Montreal's starting lineup. His return gives the club back its most dangerous attacking option after Daniel Rios filled in during his absence, and Owusu should slot right back into the front line now that he is available.

Hat-trick before yellow card

Owusu scored three goals and provided one assist in Saturday's 4-4 draw against D.C. United before picking up a yellow can that will make him serve a one-match ban due to yellow card accumulation. He will miss the clash against Toronto on July 16 following the World Cup break, according to the league.

Analysis: Owusu was brillant on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick and providing one assist before picking up a yellow card. He is an undisputed starter in the front line for Montreal and his absence will force a reshuffle in attack, with Daniel Rios expected to take on a larger role in his place during the suspension. Owusu is set to return to the starting lineup once the ban has been served and MLS action continues after the tournament.

Offensive effort Saturday

Owusu generated three shots (one on goal) and three chances created in Saturday's 2-0 win against Orlando City.

Analysis: Owusu registered three successful dribbles in addition to his finishing and playmaking numbers, but it wasn't enough for him to get involved in the scoring, ending a run of three league games with at least one goal or assist. The striker has posted multiple shots in two consecutive contests and is expected to remain Montreal's primary threat up front. He's still the team's leader in the most important attacking categories, having found the net six times and assisted five goals over 11 matches played in the 2026 MLS campaign.

This is now a third straight match with a goal contribution for the forward, with two goals and four assists during that span. He is now up to six goals and five assists this season.

Another goal Saturday

Owusu scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 win versus New York City FC.

Analysis: Osei-Owusu continues to tear it up in the league with another goal, which ultimately decided the win Saturday. Through six games, the forward has six goals with four assists, collecting 11 shots with nine chances created and making six tackles in the process as he is on his way to break his season total from 2025 at this current pace.
