Analysis: Bright was lucky enough to be handed just a one match suspension following his violent behavior against Philadelphia on Aug 19. His absence is always significant for the team's midfield, where he specializes defensively. He has won 15 tackles, made 11 interceptions and recorded 17 clearances in his last seven MLS appearances, all of which were starts.
Sent off in draw
Bright was shown a red card in the final minutes of Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Philadelphia Union.
Analysis: Bright was involved in a fight with Cavan Sullivan in stoppage time of the midweek clash, leading to his dismissal through a straight red card. The midfielder must now serve suspension Saturday against Toronto, with his earliest possible return coming Aug. 29 versus Montreal. Even though his absence is an important setback, Rodrigo De Paul will be back from his own ban to take his place during the suspension game.

Analysis: Bright recorded his first goal contribution of the season Saturday as he set up Luis Suarez's long-range opener in the 16th minute. It was the only chance he created in the match. He also recorded one interception, one clearance and one blocked shot before he was subbed off in the 75th minute for David Ayala.
Serves both suspension
Bright has served his two match suspension and will be an option for the clash with Orlando on Saturday.
Analysis: Bright was handed an additional ban from the league due to misconduct against the Rapids, landing him with a two match ban. He is still looking for his first goal or assist on the season, making six starts in seven appearances, making 24 tackles with 15 interceptions in 2026.
Suspended again
Bright will be banned for a second straight game Saturday versus New England Revolution after violating the MLS non-discrimination policy, the league announced Thursday.
Analysis: Bright won't return to action at least until the May 2 meeting with Orlando City due to his extended suspension. With Telasco Jose Segovia also ineligible against New England and David Ayala dealing with a groin injury, David Ruiz might get the nod in central midfield. Once he's cleared to play again, Bright will look to regain a consistent role.

Bright is no longer suspended and is an option for play again.
Analysis: Bright has served his ban of one game after a red card in his last contest, set to take the field again. This will give the club another midfield option in future games, already starting in six of his eight appearances on the team sheet. He will be in search of his first goal contribution as he returns, likely to come in a highly attacking Miami team.
