Registers first MLS assist
Izoita assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-1 loss versus San Jose Earthquakes.
Analysis: Izoita came off the bench in the defeat at San Jose and set up David Da Costa for a late consolation, his first assist in MLS. The homegrown midfielder had already scored on his debut back in March, so he now has a goal involvement in both of his MLS appearances. The outing came days after he was handed a first team contract, and he could see more minutes as the season winds down.
Inks new contract
Izoita was signed to an MLS contract until the 2027/28 campaign with options for 2028/29 and 2029/30, becoming immediately available for the Portland Timbers first team.
Analysis: Izoita already scored one goal during his lone MLS start in the early stages of the 2026 season, and he was then limited to MLS Next Pro action, where he tallied six goals and three assists over 26 matches played. He looks set to offer attacking projection from a central midfield spot as soon as he's an option for the main squad, although he might initially come off the bench behind David Da Costa, Cole Bassett and Diego Chara.
