Undergoes season-ending surgery
Silvetti underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder Friday and will miss the remainder of the season, ESPN reports.
Analysis: Silvetti initially suffered a left shoulder dislocation during the Leagues Cup match against Atletico San Luis on Aug. 5 and briefly returned against Atlanta United FC on Sept. 5, playing 10 minutes before being substituted due to pain. Inter Miami have confirmed that the forward underwent surgery and will begin his recovery with the focus on next season. The procedure ends any possibility of a return this season, with Silvetti now set for a rehabilitation period before he can resume football activities.
Injury now classified long-term
Silvetti (shoulder) is considered a long-term absence, potentially staying inactive for several game weeks in the final stretch of the season, the MLS reported Friday.
Analysis: Silvetti's designation has been elevated to long term, which aligns with the more serious nature of a shoulder dislocation that may require structural repair and an extended rehabilitation. His young forward depth role means the first-choice attack is not directly affected for future action, although the team's ability to rotate the front three is now limited with both him and Tadeo Allende (knee) out. Therefore, all of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and German Berterame may continue to see extended outings.
