Out after sports hernia surgery
Adimabua (groin) has undergone successful surgery for an athletic pubalgia issue that will leave him out for several weeks, his club reported Friday.
Analysis: Adimabua had recorded just 46 minutes of play in the 2026 MLS season before getting hurt, serving as an occasional backup to strikers Preston Judd and Timo Werner. The 25-year-old is likely to miss an extended period, possibly limiting his participation until the final weeks of the calendar year.
Inactive due to injury
Adimabua is unavailable ahead of the midweek clash with Orlando City after picking up a lower body injury, per the MLS Player Status Report.
Analysis: Adimabua is a forward who achieved his first career assist during his lone start of the 2026 campaign in May. While this issue is a blow to San Jose's depth, it could lead to increased playing time for Preston Judd up front. The full severity of the situation is still unclear.
