Signs first team contract

Sumalla signed a first team contract with Inter Miami through the end of the 2026 season, with options through 2028-29, becoming the 14th academy product to sign with the first team, according to the club.

Analysis: Sumalla made his professional debut for Inter Miami II in May 2025 and went on to feature in all 17 matches that season, adding 10 more appearances as a starter in 2026, before featuring in three MLS regular season matchday squads on short term loans from the affiliate. The 19 year old center back was born in Miami, relocated to Catalonia as a young child, and returned to the US in 2018 before joining Inter Miami's academy in 2024, and his new deal gives him a foothold in the first team as he continues his development.
