Felix Agu

Agu (calf) will undergo additional medical examinations to investigate his recurring muscular problems, with no clear timeline for his return, according to Bild.

Analysis: Agu remains sidelined with a calf injury and has decided to seek a second medical opinion as Werder Bremen look to identify the underlying causes of his persistent muscular issues. The full-back has not made a competitive appearance since April 12, managing only two brief outings in friendlies during that period. Werder official Peter Niemeyer confirmed that Agu will need more time to recover, with a return potentially delayed until after the November international break. His prolonged absence continues to limit coach Daniel Thioune's defensive options.

Suffers setback in friendly

Agu (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's clash against Borussia Dortmund after suffering another muscular setback during last week's friendly against Twente, coach Daniel Thioune confirmed. "It's difficult for me to give a prognosis. He was very disappointed last week. He's dealing with muscular problems again, and we need to get them under control."

Analysis: Agu is facing another frustrating spell on the sidelines after suffering a setback just 41 minutes into his comeback appearance against Twente, having previously missed nearly two months with a muscular injury. The wing-back was making his first start of the season before being forced off, and the latest setback leaves his return timeline uncertain. With coach Thioune unable to provide an estimated recovery date, Agu could face an extended absence as Werder Bremen look to manage his recurring muscular issues and avoid further complications.
