Back in lineup against England
Stanisic (illness) is in the starting XI for Saturday's Nations League clash against England.
Analysis: Stanisic returns to the Croatia starting XI against England after a viral illness forced him to sit out the defeat in Spain. His absence saw Branimir Smolcic step in at right back, but the Bayern defender has recovered in time to reclaim his place. He played the whole of the opening win over Czechia and could help bring some stability to a back line that was exposed on against Spain.
Ruled out with viral illness
Stanisic is unavailable for Tuesday's Nations League match against Spain due to illness, according to Index HR.
Analysis: Stanisic had already been absent from Monday's final training session, with coach Slaven Bilic noting several players had been dealing with health issues including headaches and general weakness. His status for Croatia's remaining matches against England on Oct. 3 and a rematch with Spain three days later remains to be seen, and it follows a strong recent stretch at club level in which he moved into Bayern's starting XI at right back with three chances created and five crosses across his last three Bundesliga appearances.
