Makes third straight start
Tanaka registered two shots (zero on goal) in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 62nd minute.
Analysis: Tanaka made his third consecutive Premier League start and remained involved in Leeds' attacking play, though he fired his best opportunity over the bar from inside the box during the first half. The midfielder has provided one assist during his current three-match run in the starting XI. His continued selection suggests he has established a more prominent role in midfield after beginning the campaign outside the regular lineup.
Single shot in win
Tanaka recorded one shot (zero on goal) in Monday's 4-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Analysis: Tanaka was involved as a more box-to-box midfielder throughout Monday's win, but he did get forward for a single shot. It was a comprehensive win, but Tanaka couldn't quite get involved on the scoresheet during the clash. He remains a more limited option moving forward even with the team thriving.
