Struggles again
McBurnie recorded four shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-1 loss against Newcastle United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 87th minute.
Analysis: McBurnie offered little Saturday, finishing with just an interception and a key pass in the loss to Newcastle. His scoring form remains off in Premier League play despite last season's 18-goal haul in the Championship, managing only three shots on target through five league appearances. He's been well below expectations for Hull City, still searching for any real spark in front of goal.
Registers first goal contribution
McBurnie assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Chelsea. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 17th minute.
Analysis: McBurnie is off the mark for goal involvements this season after setting up Mohamed Belloumi's second at Stamford Bridge. The forward gave Hull a focal point all afternoon and was a nuisance for the Chelsea defence throughout, and he was inches away from a goal himself when Martinez spilled a shot into his path and then recovered to deny him. A first strike of his own may not be far behind if he keeps finding those positions.
