Training, could be available
Klauss (foot) has taken part in practice with the squad over the last week, with manager Greg Vanney looking to evaluate his fitness level ahead of Saturday's match against New England, Corner of the Galaxy reports.
Analysis: Klauss has been sidelined since April, and a potential return to action could come in the form of a substitute appearance. Still, his progress in training without physical setbacks means he'll be an option at some point, aiming to see his workload increased towards the final stretch of the regular season. His return to action would represent a nice boost to the Galaxy's offensive capacity, particularly in a center-forward spot where they don't have many specialists other than Kyogo Furuhashi, who has yet to score in five games for the club. Over his previous eight appearances in 2026, Klauss had recorded five goals while averaging 2.5 shots (1.5 on target) per game.
Won't play Saturday
Klauss (foot) is out for Saturday's game against San Diego FC, with manager Greg Vanney saying "He won't be ready for this week, but he's getting closer. He's doing more and more of the training sessions, and he will be full in training sessions next week. And so, I think integration is looking for him, game wise, is looking closer to next week than this weekend.", per Corner of the Galaxy.
Analysis: Even though Klauss is in the final stages of his recovery, this in-state matchup comes too soon for him. If the recovery continues to progress in the right direction, however, then the Brazilian striker could emerge as an option to face New England on Saturday, Sep. 5. Kyogo Furuhashi should continue to cover at center-forward in the meantime.
