Records historic hat trick
Holse scored three goals in 21 minutes during the first half of Sunday's 6-2 win over Los Angeles Galaxy, with MLS noting it was the second-fastest hat trick in league history.
Analysis: Holse showed his efficient left-foot finishing to find the back of the net in each of his first three attempts from close range in the weekend's game, and he later recorded one more shot off target. The attacker delivered a major scoring outburst and continued a productive run, having now notched five goals and one assist over the last four MLS games. A performance of that caliber should further strengthen his case for regular attacking minutes, forming an exciting partnership with striker Rafael Navarro.
Scores opener Saturday
Holse scored one goal to go with four shots (two on goal), seven crosses (four accurate) and five corners in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Toronto FC.
Analysis: Holse opened up the scoring Saturday with a strike in the 41st minute assisted by Alexandru Matan. It marked his fourth goal contribution since joining the club in August, all of which have come in his last five appearances. He also set season highs in shots, chances created, crosses, accurate crosses and corners as he appears to be completely settled into his role with his new club.
Scores, assists in win
Holse scored a goal off two shots, made an assist and created two chances during Saturday's 4-2 win over Minnesota.
Analysis: Holse had an outstanding first half, as he forced the rebound that led to his team's first goal, scored the second with a beautiful finish and then made a brilliant pass for Rafael Navarro to score the third. This was just the second start of the campaign for the attacker, but this performance could lead to many other opportunities during upcoming games.
Scores off bench against Dallas
Holse scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 3-3 draw versus FC Dallas.
Analysis: Holse replaced Alexandru Matan during the second half and joined the goal fest with a left-footed finish in the 64th minute of this match. The backup attacker made the score sheet for the first time in four games since joining the club from Turkish side Samsunspor. While he has yet to start in MLS play, he could soon push for an increased role as a creative threat with the ability to strike from both close and long range.
Signed for club-record fee
Holse has joined St. Louis CITY SC as a Designated Player on a permanent transfer from Samsunspor, signing through the 2028-29 season with a club option for 2029-30, becoming the most expensive signing in club history, his new club announced.
Analysis: Holse arrives off a strong season in Turkey, scoring eight goals and adding three assists in 31 Super Lig appearances for Samsunspor, while also contributing two goals and a competition-leading five assists across 10 UEFA Conference League matches. Across three seasons in Turkey, he totaled 114 appearances with 22 goals and 14 assists. Sporting director Corey Wray said Holse is entering the prime of his career and should make an immediate impact given his ability to create and finish chances, and with St. Louis investing in him as a marquee attacking addition, he looks set to be an instant starter in the final third.
