Six tackles in victory
Schlager registered one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-1 win versus Aston Villa. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 56th minute.
Analysis: Schlager made six tackles (four won) and three interceptions across 90 minutes as Forest's defensive midfielder, allowing Morgan Gibbs-White and James McAtee to operate with greater freedom in the attacking half while he provided the defensive cover. He also registered one shot on goal from midfield. Schlager has now made 15 tackles and five interceptions across Forest's opening four Premier League fixtures, the most of any player in manager Oliver Glasner's squad.
Two shots Saturday
Schlager recorded two shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Liverpool.
Analysis: Schlager took two poor shots during Saturday's draw, but that wasn't the big takeaway from Saturday's clash. He wasn't outplayed by the Liverpool midfield and stood his ground in one of the toughest road matches of the campaign. It was a big test for Schlager, and he certainly passed as he continues to adjust to the Premier League.
