Opens scoring in away victory
Akgun scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Wednesday's 4-2 win versus Lille.
Analysis: Akgun scored with his only shot while creating one chance across 76 minutes in Wednesday's 4-2 Champions League victory at Lille. He gave Galatasaray the lead in the second minute, reacting quickest to Alexsandro's attempted headed clearance before firing past Berke Ozer from close range to provide the visitors with an ideal start. Akgun remained involved in Galatasaray's attacking play as the visitors recovered from a 2-1 deficit before being replaced by Leroy Sane with 14 minutes remaining.
Fit for bench
Akgun (undisclosed) is on the bench for Thursday's match against the USA.
Analysis: Akgun is back in the team sheet after some injury concerns at training, with the forward recovering from an undisclosed injury. He did start their last match but was likely to drop to the bench to face the USA, even if he was fit, potentially seeing some time from the bench to end his World Cup.
