Goes without shot in victory
Sargent registered one tackle (zero won), one clearance and one interception in Saturday's 2-0 victory over New York Red Bulls.
Analysis: Sargent had a part in Toronto's opener at the New York Red Bulls, although the goal was credited as an own goal by Justin Che after the striker attacked a cross at the back post. The forward then made a key contribution in his own box with a goal line clearance from a corner as Toronto held on for a 2-0 win. The American is still waiting for his first goal since his hat trick against the Chicago Fire in early September, a run that now stretches to seven starts, and this was the first game in that spell in which he did not register a shot. He had been much more involved in the previous six matches with 18 shots and eight chances created.
Shut out by Nashville
Sargent took one shot on goal, created three chances, drew two fouls, and committed one foul in Saturday's 2-0 loss to Nashville SC.
Analysis: Sargent was shut out by the top defense in MLS, managing just one shot in the contest. He has gone four consecutive games without a goal involvement since scoring a hat trick on September 5. He'll look to get back among the goals when Toronto returns to action at home against CF Montreal on Saturday, October 10.
