Adam Marusic
Diagnosed with strain
Marusic will miss 15-to-20 days due to a first degree flexor strain, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
Analysis: Marusic will likely sit out a couple of tilts, although he wouldn't be new to quick recoveries. Romano Floriani Mussolini has an edge over Manuel Lazzari to take care of the right-back position in relief, as he came off the bench well in the opener.
Forced off early against Bologna
Marusic generated one tackle (one won) and one clearance in 19 minutes in Monday's match versus Bologna before leaving due to an apparent thigh injury, La Gazzetta dello Sport relayed.
Analysis: Marusic was challenged a couple of times in the back and got banged up during a sprint and couldn't continue. He's set for tests ahead of Sunday's home game versus Genoa. He was replaced by Romano Floriani Mussolini in this one. Manuel Lazzari can also man the position.
Returns from injury
Marusic (calf) started and played an hour in Wednesday's Coppa Italia clash with Atalanta.
Analysis: Marusic recovered rather quickly from a calf strain, missing only two matches, and resumed starting over Manuel Lazzari, as he's done all season long. He has logged at least one clearance in his last four showings, totaling 10, scoring and assisting once, and adding two tackles (one won), five interceptions and one block over that span, with two clean sheets.
