Returns to bench against Frankfurt
Castro-Montes (thigh) is on the bench for Friday's Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Analysis: Castro-Montes returns to Koln's matchday squad after missing Sunday's derby against Borussia Monchengladbach due to a thigh injury. The right-back had already resumed training earlier this week and was considered an option for Friday's fixture, but he will begin the match among the substitutes. Having started all four of his Bundesliga appearances this season, Castro-Montes will look to regain his place in the starting lineup, although Sebastian Sebulonsen remains a competitor for the right-back position.
Back in contention for Friday
Castro-Montes (thigh) could return to the squad for Friday's Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, according to coach Rene Wagner. "Castro-Montes is an option for the squad again on Friday."
Analysis: Castro-Montes is closing in on a return after missing Sunday's match against Borussia Monchengladbach due to a thigh injury. The right-back had already resumed training but was not considered fit enough to feature in the derby. Manager Rene Wagner has now confirmed that he is back in contention for Friday's match against Frankfurt, although his starting status remains uncertain. Having started all four of his league appearances this season, Castro-Montes could compete with Sebastian Sebulonsen for the starting right-back position.
