Commits penalty
Dakonam registered two tackles (one won), two clearances and two interceptions in Monday's 1-0 defeat to Osasuna. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 45th minute.
Analysis: Dakonam fared well in the first half, but gave away a penalty just before half-time after a careless shirt pull on Ante Budimir and also picked up a yellow card for the offence. He has started all three games this campaign, but has already picked up two yellow cards.
Returns in friendly
Dakonam played one half of Wednesday's 2-1 friendly win over Tenerife, confirming his discomfort was minor and he is fit to play.
Analysis: Dakonam had gone down with muscular discomfort and asked to be substituted in an earlier preseason friendly against Reading, so his return to action for a half of play is an encouraging sign that the issue was minor. He recently signed a one year contract extension and holds the record for most appearances in Getafe history with 326, and his gradual reintegration positions him to be ready as the club prepares for a European campaign this season.
