Passes halfway point in recovery
Rodrygo (knee) has completed five months of recovery from his torn ACL, roughly the halfway point of a process the club estimates will take at least ten months, according to AS.
Analysis: Rodrygo tore the ACL and lateral meniscus in his right knee on March 3 and was operated on by Dr. Manuel Leyes, and his rehabilitation has since progressed from simply passing the time to a structured routine of hydrotherapy, anti-gravity treadmill running, plyometric work and weight training under the supervision of Real Madrid physio Davide Violati. His return is being targeted for January 2027, and the club has described the early pace of his recovery as very encouraging.
Working hard in gym during rehab
Rodrygo (knee) was spotted working hard in the gym during his rehabilitation on Friday, the player posted on X.
Analysis: Rodrygo made just 19 La Liga appearances last season, tallying one goal and three assists across 676 minutes before tearing his ACL, a major setback that required surgery and is expected to keep him sidelined until 2027. Newcomer Carlos Espi is expected to soak up the majority of his minutes under new coach Jose Mourinho while the Brazilian works his way back, with Rodrygo not expected to return until the second half of the 2026/27 season.
