Ruled out before kickoff
Marie was a late scratch in San Jose's lineup for Saturday's clash against Austin after presumably picking up an injury in warmups.
Analysis: Marie's last-minute absence led to a change in the starting XI, with Benji Kikanovic filling in at right wing-back. This would have been an important chance for Marie to produce after his involvement in a constant rotation on both flanks throughout the campaign, but the issue could now put him at risk of missing even more games. However, the nature and extent of his potential injury remain unclear for the time being.
Supplies assist in draw
Marie assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Analysis: Marie's key pass setup the lone San Jose goal Saturday in their 1-1 draw versus Vancouver. In addition to his assist, the midfielder contributed one tackle (one won) and one clearance to the defensive effort over his 62 minute shift. Marie's inclusion in the starting XI Saturday was his first across eight appearances.
Three assists in 10 minutes
Marie assisted thrice to go with one shot (zero on goal) and four chances created in Wednesday's 5-1 victory versus Austin FC.
Analysis: Marie came from the bench with 16 minutes to go and provided three assists in a less than 10-minute period. He has yet to start a game this season and this was his first game where he has provided a goal involvement.
