Analysis: Vera regained health after suffering a minor injury during a training session earlier this week. The center-back will consequently remain active as part of a four-man defense that has been rather vulnerable of late. In any case, he should be able to rack up defensive stats after tallying at least three clearances in each of his last seven league starts. His presence in the lineup leaves Brandan Craig on the bench this time.

Scores long-range rocket in draw
Vera scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 2-2 draw against New England Revolution. He also added five clearances, one blocked shot and one tackle.
Analysis: Vera scored one of the best goals in the 2026 MLS season with a long-range bomb that went straight into the roof of the net past Sebastian Breza. The defender is more known for his defensive work, though. This was just his first goal of the season, but he's also averaging a strong 4.75 clearances per game.
Helps Montreal to clean sheet
Vera made an interception and three clearances during Thursday's 0-0 draw with Montreal.

Vera received a straight red card during Saturday's 3-1 loss to Atlanta United.
Analysis: Vera picked up a late red card for violent conduct after playing almost the full match as a center-back. This event means he'll be ineligible for at least one MLS match, sitting out next weekend against Orlando. Therefore, his earliest return would come in a subsequent fixture versus Portland. His place in the back line could be filled by Jalen Neal or, if fit, Tomas Aviles (hamstring).
